Part 1: Let the trading begin!
A few of us her at LJ that turn pens decided to get together and swap some of goodies. We’ve started a package moving around the country (actually, around North America – we dip into Canada as well!) containing 5 turned pens, 5 pen kits and 5 blanks. Here’s a map to show where we’re located and where our pens will travel: When each Jock gets the package he’ll go through it and decide what he wants to take from it, he can take all or nothing but… what...
Part 2: Where in the world is the Pen Trade Box???
Alright, the box is making its rounds now. jeffthewoodwhacker added an extra pen (thanks Jeff) and swapped a pen blank. Box was on it’s way by Thursday and Karson received it today in DE. Here’s a map of the progress so far…
Part 3: One small step for pen turners...
The box is on the move again! A short trip this time from Karson to FrankA. Frank received the box yesterday but hasn’t had a chance to go through it – some story about -5 degrees and a dead oil burner. We’ll work with him some on getting his priorities in order before the next trade… :-) The box is ‘chilling’ in New York right now, here’s where we’ve been so far: Stay tuned as the drama unfolds and we answer gripping questions like...
Part 4: We're going international with this thing...
Hi Jocks, ScottB just let us know he’ll drop the packaging in the mail. From the way it looks at sounds you’ll now need a loading dock if you want to be part of the pen trade, no more of this sissy carrying a box to the front door stuff for us! Here’s a map update… ...and how the spread looked when ScottB received it… He’ll share some pics soon on the outgoing package… per Scott the package is busting at the seams. You guys are a...
Part 5: We're on the move again... welcome to Canada!
Hey Jocks, I received quite a few emails during this leg of the trade, unfortunately it took a bit longer than anticipated for the box to make it to Relic in Nova Scotia, but it is there now and we are moving right along. Here’s the latest map… After Relic makes his trades the box is off to Rikkor in Minnesota and then wayyy over on the Left Coast to Nils in CA – then it’s back ‘home’ to Georgia. Looks like it will probably head off again sinc...
Part 6: The pen box is back in the USA!
My sources tell me the pen box is back in the USA and in the hands of our fellow turner, Rikkor. I hear the box is impressive, I believe Rikkor said he was “astonished” when he received the package… I’l llet him fill everyone in from there. Quite a journey we’ve taken here, thanks again everyone!
Part 7: Final stop on our North American tour!
Out fellow Jock and Pen Turner Nils tells me the box has made it to him in California! He’ll get us some pics soon of the bounty he received. This is our final stop on this tour – after Nils it’s back to me in Georgia. We’re already prepping for Round 2 so keep it in mind if you’d like to join us. Here’s our updated map, we’ve really done some travelling!
Part 8: Homeward Bound
Nils tells me the box has left California and should arrive here in Georgia on Friday! This will complete the circle for the trade (at least for round one) and I’ll make sure to update the map and add some pics when it gets here.
Part 9: THE JOURNEY IS COMPLETE!
As Nils mentioned, the Goodie Box was on my doorstep yesterday. I wasted no time at all digging in and seeing what was in this Treasure Chest! WOW! This sure did G-R-O-W since it left Georgia, it’s packed full of stuff. I’ll get to the pics soon but first here’s a recap of the trip. Started with me in Woodstock, GA (5 Kits – 5 Blanks – 5 Pens)I sent it to jeffthewoodwhacer in TennesseeJeff sent it to Karson in DelawareKarson sent it to FrankA in New York...
