« Part 5: We're on the move again... welcome to Canada! Part 6 of Pen Turners' Swap series Part 7: Final stop on our North American tour! »

My sources tell me the pen box is back in the USA and in the hands of our fellow turner, Rikkor. I hear the box is impressive, I believe Rikkor said he was “astonished” when he received the package… I’l llet him fill everyone in from there. Quite a journey we’ve taken here, thanks again everyone!

Hi Tim,

I don’t know if we can get Rikkor away from his lathe long enough to comment on it or not. :)

Well, the box arrived about two thirty Saturday afternoon. It was so heavy I had to assume that someone was using steel ball bearings for packing material. When I opened it up and had pulled out all the goodies…, well there are five pen kits, there are nine finished pens, and there are 47 blanks. Forty seven! That understates it, too. Several of the blanks are big enough to yield two, four or more each. I laid them all out, and took a picture. As soon as I sort through some computer issues I will post it. It certainly has been worth the wait.

OK, sorted through that mess. Here’s the picture of the “Bounty of the Box.”

I keep watching this adventure and with each entry I tell myself I need to try this turning thing. Of course I don’t have a lot of time, nor do I have the right equipment, but looking at all this really neat stuff just calls me to come and play. This has been a most entertaining trip.

OK, I’m ready and waiting. I hope I can lift the thing when it arrives!

I’ll be sure to take a few pics of the bounty when it gets here.

Russel, I believe the sensible thing to do would be to go get a lathe tomorrow and be ready for Round 2. That would give you a bit of practice time before the box made it to you!

We’ve almost completed the circle here, after Nils it’s back to me – feels like Christmas!
