Madrone Burl Pen

I don’t want to post 100 entries on my projects page for pens but wanted to share this one, I think it came out great. I’ve always tried to have some type of artistic outlet and never had any skills. Drawing, painting, music – no luck at all. I tried trombone in 6th Grade and the band director actually asked me to move the slide but not actually play… true story. :-)

I’ve received a lot of compliments on the pens and I’m getting better – this one came out nicely and with the help of a post on LJ I was able to get some nice photos, too.

Tim,

This is gorgeous. Don’t worry about the posts. That what this site is about- to share. If you have a 100 entries to share so be it.

Thanks for the post.

Tim, nice job on the pen. I have been throwing the center band away and turning a center band on all my pens. Try it sometime—-not hard to do.

Great looking pen. As Scott said, don’t worry about posting a lot of pens. I love looking at pens.

Keep up the great work!

MY wife and I just got our first pen making blanks and associated accessories
weekend before last (we’re still practicing on no-pen blanks I cut from stock at hand).
I’d love to see some more of your work. 100+ projects? Bring them on!

Hey, no problem. Two of my eight projects are pens. It is woodworking!

This pen you just posted is really terrific!
