Welcome indeed to lumberjocks.com

When I first joined LumberJocks It was pretty much with the same intention I have when I join many other forums, take what you need then bug out.

I have a sneaky suspicion that LJs will be different.

Welcome comments from 10 people I have never met before in my life, within 6 days of joining the site!

Thank you all for your warm welcome. It appears there is much to enjoy within this community and I reckon I’ll be around for quite a while before I “bug out”.

As mentioned in my profile, my experience level is such that I’ll be much more or a pupil than a teacher. At the age of 42 (I think) my voyage in to the lumber journey is in its infancy.

My workshop certainly leaves much to be desired and desiring is something in which I can truly say I excel.

So thanks once again for your welcome, I hope I’ll have something worth contributing in the future and until then I’ll continue to enjoy the education and entertainment that your wonderful forum provides.

welcome to the site, but be careful – if woodworking is your hobby – this site could be addictive!

The nice things about this site, is that THERE ARE no pupils and no masters – we are all just people with a passion/admiration/interest in woodworking – all in various aspects of woodworking, and all at different levels or experience, and knowledge – but we all get to learn from one another, and share with others.

Hey, let me tell you… this site is Super Addictive… the people here are great, and PurpLev said it best- there are no pupils or masters, or “clicks”... just decent people with a common passion. I’m not sure if you’ve met or even know Steve, but he is from your neck of the woods too!

If you need anything, let us know!

As a fellow “pupil” I can say that you will be pleased with the education you get here, not to mention a healthy dose of encouragement!

In the past 111 days since I joined, I can’t say that more than three or four days has gone by without me checking in… and I was in the same frame of mind… a place to find some info and move on.

Well, let me add my welcome and say that it’s good to have you join us!

despite all our growth – in numbers and features here – we’ve pretty much maintained a neighborly attitude and feel. If anything we’ll help keep each other motivated to get back to the shop, but addicted enough to spend any quality shop time online. – Oh and we’re really good for helping each other find that bit of info we just can’t put our fingers on.

I know what you mean… I’ve joined online forums before and they start to stagnate after a while, I find that is not the case with LJ’s.

I’m an infant as well and I’ve never ran into an issue that this awesome community was not able to offer solutions or at least great suggestions on. There’s definitely a sense of “community” here.

Welcome and enjoy!

The next New Zealand Lumberjocks picnic may just have to move out of my shop and into something bigger. It’s getting crowded in here! Welcome Graeme!
