Sunlight
Last week I sanded nightstand #1. I had scuffed it up badly storing it and had to resand a large portion of the outside. I used pocket screws to attach the top.
Since I sanded the project, I needed to expose it to sunlight to even out the color, so outside it went. It was nice today, over 70 degrees in the sun.

Second Up
The second nightstand only needed detailing on the drawers. I went over them yesterday with 220 and then cheese-clothed them.
The Finish
On went the danish oil.
I followed two coats with a buffing/ drying rag.
Last steps
I lost one of my handle knobs, so I have to take care of that. I am also planning on ordering glass for the tops. Then we have new nightstands!

I really like the dovetails on the drawers as well as having two of them. You can’t have too much storage space beside the bed. Great design!

John those are some nice looking night stands. I really like the arched design and the contrasting woods. Might have to knock off your design and make a couple myself.

Thanks for the comments. They are a Harvey Ellis / Stickley design with some mods that I will go into when I get around to posting the final project.
I am going out to put the top on today. And install the one knob I could find. I will have to get another. Grrr.

Notice how those little things just run away when you need them. If you were not putting it together, you would probably find the knobs just like that.

Jeff- I recommend the Shop Drawings books. They are just drawings with no directions, but they give you great ideas.
