This is to all who have read and especially those of you that responded to the previous blog I wrote showing your concerns for my health. But, most of all, it is for those who have been praying for me. May God bless you and your family’s as much as he has blessed me, throughout my life and least of all, Because of you, my friends?! (Now!)
I am a diabetic and have been disabled for seven years with severe nerve damage to my feet and legs. About six months ago, my sugar went out of control, running an average of 400 daily.
(Not Good) I had to start insulin shots about two months ago in order to get it under control. At this time, it is doing well.
About two weeks ago, I had some tests ran at the hospital, to check the circulation in my feet and legs. Well, the test revealed that I probably have a blockage. Now it’s off to see my vascular surgeon on the 23rd. I’ll let you know where I stand when I find out.
Quick and to the point here. For the past four years, I usually feel good for a total of two months out of an entire year, and that comes in spurts of about one week here and there. But, thanks to your prayers and friendship, I have felt better over the past three days than at any other time in those four years. Please continue to pray for me as I will for your help. Yesterday evening, I had to stop and think whether or not I had taken a pain pill that day. I normally have to take one every four hours.
p.s.
I Hope to do some project posting soon. I have a project that you will have to see to appreciate.
God bless

Gene, my friend,
The prayers, along with your positive attitude will sustain you through this ordeal. I know you will be back in the shop in no time and I am looking forward to hearing from you and seeing more of your work.
We’ll keep praying- you keep smiling.

Gene as always prayers will be said for you. You need those feet and legs. I know you had me scared of something worse but this is bad enough. Make sure you understand your doctor and what he wants to do. Many people just do what the doctor says and that can be bad at times. Keep the faith Leatherneck. God Bless you and yours.

Hang in there Gene. There are lots of people who don’t know what it’s like to live with pain 24/7. I do, and I understand what you’re going through. As I’ve mentioned before, I have a bad back. I have bad days and really bad days. The pain limits the amount of time you can work on anything. Sometimes, I over-do (and I’m sure you do too), and I always pay for it. If you don’t have a pill box, pick one up at the drug store. That’s the only way I can keep up with what and when I’ve taken my meds. We’ll keep praying….... you keep being strong.

Thanks for the update and the specifics, Gene. Now we know exactly what to pray for. May God bless you with a successful surgery (if needed) and a quick healing.

I’m Sorry guys, “United States Army” I do appreciate your thinking that I was. When I went through AIT, I had a company commander and field first Sargent that had been turned in to the inspector general in the previous cycle for pulling a surprise inspection under the influence. We ran 5 miles before breakfast and then PT. All of the other companies were trucked to the ranges. Not my company, we forced marched and double timed both ways in full feild gear, and 15 minutes of PT when got back to the company area. It did not matter what time of night it was. I thought that I had joined the Marines!
As for you Marines, I am proud to be even mentioned along with your name and heritage. You are the best!
God bless

GENE, thanks for all the nice comments you’ve given me in the past, on my work and well wishing and prayers you’ve given me with my own health problems, I too can only give it an hour or two a day, if that, at times, so I can commiserate with you. I can only offer my prayers and well wishing for your years to come. Know that you are thought of kindly here at Lumberjocks and we will miss you. mike
