A Thanksgiving Day, The Year 2007
A time for reflection
I for one, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all the members here at LumberJocks, for making this the warm and cordial site we are able to share together. It really seems like most here, enjoy being here. That’s amazing. A big pat on the back for all.
I realize that we are located around the globe, and that all do not share the same customs or beliefs. Here, in the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving at this time of the year. Others, may have other types of celebrations that they observe with their families at this season that I am probably not aware of. “Please”, share those with everyone.
We all share a couple of things in common to be thankful for at this time of the year. The love of working with wood and the desire to share with others the knowledge and experience we have, and to learn from each other.
Each of us is fortunate enough to be able to do our woodworking as either a hobby or as a means of income. Even the inter-net allows us the freedom to share and learn this knowledge and its craftsmanship from others.
So, from our home to yours, and from Gregory, my wife Linda and myself, it truly is a most
“Happy Thanksgiving”!
God bless
-- Gene, a Christian in Virginia

Gene,
It is so easy to forget the reason for holidays. They usually are anticipated and enjoyed with family and friends, but we sometimes fail to reflect on the holiday itself. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for all the wonderful thoughts, feelings and benefits in our lives. Happy holiday to you.

God bless you Gene, and your family.
In a world where the Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa marketing now starts the day after the Halloween candy comes off the shelf, Thanksgiving I fear gets lost. Everyday we should reflect as we close our day on the blessings we have been granted, and take the time to look for ways to spread our good fortune with those who have less. I wish all of you a blessed day, and a bountiful one.
