Buddy icon is of my son Gregory and myself (I'm the old guy) Gregory has downs syndrome and has been a true inspiration to my life, He is my buddy and I love him very much.
I am a ole man that is retired, whom God gave many gifts of which, being able to do carpentry, electrical, (plumbing and Pipe fitting was my main trade) cabinet maker, and furniture, also I refinished furniture and I am fortunate enough to have a large woodworking shop, heated, air conditioned and running water. ( will post photo's when I get it cleaned ("LOL") I will show some of my projects as soon as I can.
He allowed me to make a good living doing all of these fields Through out
my life and I give thanks to him for this.

Gene, welcome to Lumberjocks. I’m not a frequent flyer here but it’s a great place to call home. I hope you and Gregory find lots of joy together here. ;-)

The old health hasn’t been that good for the last couple of years. Just the great reception and really nice folks here have gotten me in the mood to go back to the shop. It’s hard when one doesnt feel well to get off the couch. For that I am thankful to everyone here at WJ’s (in the process of cleaning up the shop at this time) Sure am glad I joined and I am feeling better already. Wish I had found WJ a lot sooner.
Thanks to all
God Bless

Thanks for the welcome.

I want to learn how to make a few toys and a life size Santa sleigh. I think I could build the sleigh from two pieces of plywood, cut out the shape of a sleigh in each piece and build a frame so it can stand up and I can sit in it dressed in my Santa suit and pose for pictures with kids.

I have been the local mall Santa for two years. It is a money making adventure and kids who wanted photos could not always get them. I want to do picture for free.

I want to make a few toys for my four grand daughters and perhaps a few others to just give away.

Take care,
Preston

Thanks for the welcome! I’m excited to be here and look forward to reading about all the projects and inspiration behind them.

My dad (a sheetmetal worker) is my hero and inspiration. He is no longer living, but he is with me in my shop everyday! I still use some of his favorite tools, and I know he is the reason I love to work with my hands.

God Bless you and Gregory, Gene!

thanks for the advice. I saw that thing I think, that’s where I got the idea. I did do it that way, but I think that the inconsistencys with the parts just accumulated.

Thanks for the welcome. I’m a member of many online communities and this is the first time I’ve had so many different people actually welcome a new member. I’ve only recently discovered the site and I’ve already found it very useful for a novice woodworker. This site seems like a fantastic community and I can’t wait to join in with questions, projects and someday insight.

Thanks,

Pat
