We use Carbide Tipped Saw Blades for our wood veneer edgebanding cutting machines. The blades cost $170.00 each.
Some of our blades have lost the Carbide on the tips, and our sharpening company says that they cannot sharpen them. So they are not able to be used. Does anyone know of a company that can replace the carbide on saw blades? and… What would the process be called?
Thanks!

Howdy and welcome to LJ!
Here is one of the best places that I have used. They can sharpen and braze, weld, or whatever they do to replace teeth.
Be sure to leave them contact info when you ship to them. Name, phone, address. You would be surprised how people ship them blades without any of that!

Give them a call and see what they can do for you. Tell them “Todd from Montana” sent you. I do business with them when I work in Ohio and they are great. The sharpening machines are all computer driven and very accurate.

I use Forrest Manufacturing for all my saw blade sharpenings and repair work. You might want to check with them and see if they can help you with your problem.

I had not thought of it earlier, but often the manufacturers of finer blades offer their own service. You might want to check into that.

I have used Forrest Manufacturing to replace carbide tips and they did a great job. They also really know how to sharpen the teeth.

I think everyone has given you some great info for “circular” blades. But I’m wondering if you are talking about band saw blades?

When I worked in the plastics fabrication business, we used several Forrest products. They were a great company to work with. Top quality and great service.
Don’t know where you are located. In Dallas, TX, D&R Saw can replace teeth and sharpen them for you.
