After-Effects of Snow….
....what can I add that these picture do not show-tell-speak forth them-selves….?
I knew this one was coming so I had already closed the place up here on the outside, in regards to waiting on an icy breath of winters best. One must understand that it’s not the snow I have a problem dealing with, but the time spent on cleaning up after all the flakes of snow have had their party. So after having spent the day yesterday staying ahead of the storm, I will now go out today and do my part in clean-up.
So dress warm as we step outside the door of my kitchen here, this is actually warm as we’ve been in the in the lower numbers over the weekend….14-20….

....ah yes the birds, and what a blessing they are, looks like they’ll be needing more seed soon….

....well I guess those metal machines are going to need a dusting off….

....this shots good enough to be on a card….hey not a bad idea as I need to make up some new post cards for advertising….

....hey wait a minute here, where did this one come from? Must be the other side of my brain thinking out loud here….more stories to come on this one….

....and yes, another wood project going on here. Re-doing this cabin with a new connecting entry way, bathroom added on external and still working on getting the sun-room framed out next. That means this December and then I can start working the inside interior, which I plan on doing in tongue and groove or v-notched wood boards….

....so after all that white stuff out there, it’s kind of nice to add some green into the color of things around here. Best and very good wishes in all your coming traditions of the season….

Thank you.
GODSPEED,
Frank

Beautiful photos. Living in Florida, I haven’t seen snow since the 1980’s. It is wonderful. Being raised near Syracuse, we had plenty, and I remember how nasty it gets, especially towards the end of the season. And then there is the cold. We did a Christmas show in Fremont, Nebraska (1984 I think) where it got down to 30 below, not counting the 40 mph wind. But, the solitude and serenity of the first major snow is what is strongest in my memory. Walking through a deep forest, freshly blanketed with snow, silence, peace.

Well it certainly does look like late fall where you are. I like being inside looking out at the snow or taking walks but the clean up and clearing is another matter.
Have fun and do keep warm and enjoy the silence of snow.

Frank – your view of things is refreshing. 12 years ago, before I moved to Texas, I could have shot the next snow flake that crossed my path. Now I think of them fondly and actually miss the beauty that snow can bring. Thanks for sharing.
