challenge02 - my shop at Mountain View Dome

dataman, I think blip.tv may be experiencing some more server issues. I selected the link and I get a Quicktime icon but nothing ever loads. I do see the pic of the domes. Very cool by the way. I’d like to know more about them as well.

For your video, did you do the whole “wait for it to be converted to flash thing”? Mine took a while yesterday… I’ll try again in the morning.

I get the sme idle QT icon. Quick question for you. Did you copy and paste the “Copy the HTML below and paste it into your web site” from the top panel or “Copy the HTML below to paste into MySpace”? Looks like the first panel from the text below your photo. Try editing and pasting in the code from “Copy the HTML below to paste into MySpace”. Looking forward to seeing your shop!

Yes the link worked and I was able to go back and check out your shop tour. Lots of neat ideas for storage. I love the blast gate design and the wheel barrow design for portability. May have to borrow that idea. Thanks

Thin shell concrete structures are really wonderful to live and work in!
Everyone that visits talks about the comfortable “feelings” they feel when in the domes.

If you are a technical person you can understand the concepts etc but its much more difficult for those less technically inclined. My wife understood the concept and advantage of a sculptured concrete structure but she indicated that she would have to see one before ever agreeing to own and live in one.
I arranged a tour to a beautiful dome in Conifer, Co and that’s all it took!

We usually participate in a National Dome Tour each year where people all over the country open their domes to the public. There are many others that will allow tours if prearranged. Its usually held in early October and there might be one or more open near where you live or you can always take a vacation her in beautiful Colorado and stop by and see ours!

Just ran across your video. You and your neighbor did a good job producing it. You have a beautiful home and the shop setup is very functional.
