Hey, John, I’ve previously seen your work posted on the Ubeaut forums where I post as DPB. Love your work.

Hi John.. seems like we are “almost” neighbours (well, from a worldwide view, we ARE neighbours).
I’m about an hour from Listowel. I think that is close to where you are??

Love your birdhouses—that’s what Rick wants to find some time to build. He wants birdhouses all over our property. I have yet to see one, but that’s his plan.

well, we might just have to plan a trip up that way some time. My daughter lived in Listowel for about 6 months, when she was teaching in Walkerton. Her husband worked in London and for the first six months of the year (following their wedding, I might add) he lived in London and she lived in Walkerton. In December they both moved to Listowel so they could actually live together full-time and then they both commuted.
What does that have to do with Cranbrook? Asolutely nothing haha.. you just triggered a memory :)
(she now lives at home – 45 min from her new job and he now lives in Windsor, 10 min. from his job. Some day, soon I hope, they will both get jobs in the same town.) There. done. No more stories… nope..

So…anyway, maybe we’ll pop by one day in the summer.

Welcome John. I had to retire due to medical problems too. I tell all my friends that being retired isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It’s a whole letter better! After all, I do get to do my style of woodworking whenever I want and can.
I’ve seen your work. It’s awesum!

Thank you Oscorner
I just put this shop together last summer.
The garage was about a mile away so we moved it here with a hay wagon then i put a floor in and added a 6 ft greenhouse on the end.
It also helps to heat the shop a little.
In the summer i do most of my work outside due to the size of my birdhouses. http://www.ncwoodworker.net/pp/data/500/P4100004.JPG

Thanks again

Hi Dan and thank you .
I have built one church so far , I love the style of old churches.
The birdhouse i just made for the summer contest is similar to a small castle .
I would like to build an actual castle birdhouse but to keep it to scale for birds it would be huge.

Nice job Gary
I always mount the base then add the birdhouse after unless its a jumbo birdhouse then it,s lifted all at once with a farm tractor.
I will be putting a 6 ft birdhouse up soon so i will post some pics when i do.
