A little Background…
A friend of mine got me interested in wood racing sail boats, Jet14 & Thistle, and from there I got interested in woodworking in general. My woodworking has also been inspired by the conversion of our 1900 row home. My wife and I are slowly converting it from apartments back into a single family home.
I got my first real piece of shop equipment for Christmas 2006. A wonderful hybrid table saw General International 50-220C M1. I am almost done with my first piece of furniture, which will be in an upcoming post.

I don’t know about original but it will be a lot closer than it was. Nobody needs 3 kitchens, one on each floor. We still have a tenant on the third floor who is great and it’s always nice to have someone help pay the bills. The house currently has a primary residence on the first 2 floors and an apartment on the third floor. We’re trying to get the second floor “stabilized” so we can get our 6mo daughter into her room. There is currently construction between our bed room and hers, even though both her room and ours are done for the moment.

Sounds like a great way to start woodworking Che.
I would love to build a wooden sail boat. Ever since I saw Norm build one on The New Yankee Workshop, I wanted to make one like that. Now that I have the time and place, I may yet do that. First, I need to get a few projects out of the way.

Che – I like you signature. It reminds me of a sci-fi show – upon the commissioning of a ship, each crewmember had to state their name, and a truth about them. I too like old things – houses, tools, furniture. Good luck with the saw, I’m sure that it will be the first of many tools. I look forward to seeing your work.
