Welcome to the Jocks. Be sure to check out the projects and forums. Are you a boat builder, or a wanna be boat builder like me?

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I’m a new wood worker and got my first stationary tool (table saw) last Christmas (‘06) Fortunately the boats I work on have very few straight cuts.
John,
I have built a couple of wood sea kayaks but I would consider myself more of a boat restorer than a builder. I got into woodworking through sailing. I grew up sailing Sunfish & Lasers. After college I crewed on a Thistle where I met a Thistle and Jet sailor who was seriously addicted to “woodies” He got me into the wood boats and therefor into woodworking. The picture is of Jet 14 #16 – Sweet Sixteen which was built in 1959 if memory serves me correct and is my next boat project.

Welcome Aboard Che. A boat builder? Wow, it will be great to see some of your projects. I have wanted to build a boat since I saw Norm do it on one of his shows.
