Well I started with the grid… this is a dry fit of the grid, it fits together really snug and lays perfectly flat. Its 2 1/2” thick which will provide more than enough strength I believe. I used MDF because I had it on hand and it won’t move. The two outside pieces have oak veneer on them…

At this stage I’m not sure what to do next, should I glue and screw it to the top using my table saw as the true flat surface in my shop? And what glue should I use on it? Tightbond or Gorilla?
