Part 1: Metamorphosis to come.
This past week I was able to get a good start on this wonderful challenge of creativity and woodworking skills. This has taken plenty of design, thought and time up to this point. I’m not very good at this design thing. The legs are walnut and the aprons and stretchers are made of butternut. All the joints are mortis and tenons. Take a good look at this now because in the next set of pictures there will be a metamorphosis in this table.http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q96/Carverrog/th...
Part 2: Metamorphosis #1 completed.
Well, I’m in the final stages of this challenge finally. As you can see this table did make a major change. I chose to make the legs appear to twist which helps give this table more of the Asian look. All joints are mortis and tenon, tongue and groove or a spine. The light color wood is the butternut with the darker being walnut. The last stage of metamorphosis is yet to come. Enjoy!
Part 3: Getting closer!
I’m now down the home stretch and getting ever closer to the finish line. I will say this I have really enjoyed this little project so far. I have learned some new ways of thinking about how to make designs work together. !! This is a dry run so I still have the glue up to do and finish to apply.
Part 4: Completed!!!
As you can see by the new projects I made it to the end of a very satisfying project.. I thought you might like more closeup pictures of this table. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Enjoy!
