This is not exactly woodworking related, but today my lovely wife Maggie and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary! It was easy for me, Maggie is a great girl and wife, but I don’t know how she has put up with me for the past 40 years – I guess even the lost sheep can follow a good Shepard. We spent the day with my oldest son, his wife, my 9 year old granddaughter Maggie and the only parent left in our family – my 84 year old Mother-in-law. It was a GREAT day and was thoroughly enjoyed. I wanted to sneak out to the shop and make some dust – but I was chicken. Sorry for taking up your time with non woodworking stuff, but I was busting at the seams :-)).

Congratulations Bill. I’ll hit 13 later this year. Probably won’t live long enough to make 40.

Congratulations on 40 years Bill. We just past 33 a few months back and it’s funny how I can’t remember what I did before we got married. That’s quite a milestone. Good luck to you and the little lady.

Congratulations! I’m almost at 8 years of marriage right now, and I have no CLUE how we’ll make it that long ;)

My heartfelt congratulations, Bill! Anyone who has been married for 40 years is sure to be a fine woodworker, because they have obviously mastered the art of patience.

I think part of the success is probably related to the woodworking rule “measure twice and cut once”... you have to think twice and speak once :)

Congratulations to Maggie and you, Bill. 40 years is quite the feat, especially if you’ve been on the force the whole time. You must have married your soul-mate, and for that, my friend, you are well and truly blessed.

Thanks guys for all of the Congratulations. It’s been a great 40 years and I’d do it all over again. We have started on the next 40 – I doubt that we’ll make that one, but it won’t be because we didn’t try.
