My father made the flooring of the patio at our house, and we decided to construct a roof for it.

Unfortunately we made a mistake during measuring one of the beams:

I would try and cut a piece of scrap and splice it in there…with some waterproof epoxy

Make a matching one of the other side, and call it a design feature.

That was my first thougt, David. :)
The piece of scrap is a good idea (too) but I think I can’t make a matching piece because the whole cutting was a bit rough…
Perhaps I will take the time to get it fine.
