Barb is an amateur woodworker living in the Pacific NW, a published writer and book reviewer for the woodworking market. Interests range from furniture design to new turning experience, to some carving, and lots of tools. It's an addiction. She also keeps busy at her day job as branch manager for a local tour bus company, which means cleaning and light maintenance on diesel buses, plus hiring/training new drivers and filling in as a driver...looking forward to retirement, as the garage/shop is always calling. Barb has six grandchildren and four grown children scattered afar. They are the light of her life.

Hello Wayne and Oscorner. yes, I have been absent from LumberJocks for a while. I have this crazy job, you see. I work for a charter bus company, and spring can be labeled “heck on wheels.” I feel the heavy weight of two Thorsen side tables pressing down on me with a May 31st deadline, and am designing as I work my job, but I sort of suspected this contest would be ‘down to the wire’ for me. I only have half the pieces roughed out, and if I fail to make the deadline, I promise I will keep you apprised of my project and show them off anyway. I was just glad for the contest so I was exposed to your website here. I will, however, do my best to get them finished….
