My name is Chuck Bender. I am a professional furniture maker specializing in 17th, 18th and early 19th Century American reproductions. I've been working wood for over 30 years. You can see some examples of my work at my website. I've recently started a woodworking school which you can also learn about at my website. I hope to learn from being part of the lumberjocks community and, hopefully, help others learn from my years of experience. With a little luck, I'll become a regular fixture around here.

Hi Chuck,

Let me welcome you to LJs. I hope that you will find this to be an interesting and exciting part of your woodworking adventure.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I’m already impressed with how all you LJ’s show your support for one another. For those that checked out my website(s), thanks for looking. I’ll post some shop and project pics very soon. Until then, I’ll just enjoy looking at everyone else’s. I’m looking forward to learning from all the invaluable reasources here. The longer I work wood, the more I realize how little I really know about working wood. There’s always someone out there with a different take on how something should be done or how it should look. Hopefully, I’ll find opportunities to help others find their woodworking path while I’m here. Thanks again for making me feel so welcome.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Karson,

Unfortunately, the 21st is the final day of one of my Woodworking Fundamentals classes. Usually on the final day of the week long class, the students are putting the final touches on their Shaker stands. It’s a long day, in other words. Otherwise, I’d anxiusly be looking forward to meeting some of the Lumberjocks in person. If there isn’t another get together before, make sure you look for me next year at the Chantilly show. I’ll be set up exhibiting for sure (unless my wife breaks her ankle again on the day we were supposed to leave for this year’s show).
