Today was another humid day . . . so out I went at the step. I started by putting a strip of ice shield along all the edges where there will be wood on wood.
As my shop is in shambles I had to cut the decking half way out the side door. Arrg.
Next was the test fit . . .
And attach all the decking boards.
The final steps were to add the skirting and cut a slight curve . . . and voila . . . done.
This was the original step

Zuki – it looks great. But I have a question (OK 2 questions)- the drop from the top step to the next looks really big, is that just an illusion of the picture? Are you going to put on a handrail?

Zuki, I really like the woodwork and the appearance, but I’m not clear on the function. It is a handsome piece though and must look nice with the new window well treatment.

Tks all.
Betsy . .. the drop to the next step is the same as the others, about 7” I think. No handrail . . . there is a flower bed between the grass the the concrete wall. DW would kill the person walking through her flower bed long before anyone could fall down into the well. :-)
Mot . . . no real function. DW just wanted it and the the other step was UGLY. When this piece weathers it will blend in with everything else.
