I just graduated from the University of Notre Dame. I got a B.A. in Architecture with a concentration in furniture design. The concentration required two years of classes in which I completed four projects. Furniture is inexorably linked with architecture and I found it to be the most enjoyable design process in my undergraduate career. The stress from our professor was always to push the envelope in all aspects of woodworking through a meticulous process where proportion, precedent, construction, and finish all converged in a harmonious work of craftsmanship.
