Part 1: beginings
I have only cut the rabits in the bottom and sides, cut the datos for the deviders, cut the bottom, and made a half lap in the deviders to cross over. I still have to make my vennered top, make feet, and attach the top, as well as make a tray that will go into the top with I think will be 16 deviders. Please give any suggestions, and comments. Part 2: Top veneer
I have picked out the venner I will be useing for the top of my jewlery box. I decided on birds eye maple. Now alot of people said to get some kind of rosewood veneer, but the birds eye maple was so beautiful and I couldn’t resist. I am going to be staining the oak with a nice brownish golden look, and the maple will probobly just be left the way that it is. It should look good with the oak when the oak is stained. Part 3: The Top
Well after about four months I finely get a chance to make use of my shop. I have begun to work on my jewelry box once again. I started in january and got distracted by the huge shop renovation. Well here it is. I believe that it turned out better than expected. This was my fist attempt at veneering and I think that I did very well. It turned out great.
