The LOML and I dropped off my tool tote entry tonight at the fairgrounds. We took a few minutes to look around at the other entries that had already been delivered. They’re all great but, there were some really AMAZING pieces there already. If you’re in the San Diego area from June 14 to July 6, stop by the Fair and check out the Design in Wood exhibit. You won’t be disappointed.
Some day I will to build a piece of real furniture that can hold its own in this gathering. Persistence, persistence, persistence.

Good luck on your entry, Jack. But in reality you are already a winner. The important thing about these contests in not in actually winning the competition (although that is nice) but rather it is in the courage to build a piece and put it up for public display and comment.
Have fun.

First of all, good luck!! Now, to ask a selfish question, the wife unit and I will actually be arriving in San Diego for a vacation on July 6th. I would love to see this exhibit, but do you think it would be starting to get taken apart by the time we’d make it out there?

mattm – The tickets say that the Fair runs through July 6 and I can’t pick up my entry until noon the next day so I would think that everything should still be intact on the 6th.
I hope you do get a chance to see it.
