I have been cuttin' up some kind of wood since I was a kid. My Dad got me into it. He started out as a framer and ended up building cabinets, mostly home construction and a little commercial work. I have had many jobs outside of woodworking, but have always kept my hands in it. Now, I have a small shop...and I mean small but it suits the projects I have been doing. My wife does not like it when I get into the ZONE...I am useless for any thing else she wants me to do...LOL

Welcome to LJs. I am sure that you will find this to be an interesting and exciting part of your woodworking adventure.

I can empathize with you about your wife’s “concern” when you are making sawdust. I often loose track of time only to get yelled at because I didn’t mow her mother’s grass or some other thing that which , at least in my mind, was not as important as “making that last cut”.

Glad to have you here.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.
