Hello Vinman,
I will ditto Gary’s comment about the pictures. Visual tours of other shops are an enjoyable aspect of this site.

You guys want pictures? You got ‘em. Here is my shop. I’ve been playing with wood as a hobby since 1996 when I went into a tool and book buying frenzy. It all started when I was picking up a copy of Blackbelt Magaznine in the books and magazines aisle at my local supermarket. That’s when I took notice of a picture of a gorgeous walnut table on the front of one of the magazines. That was the most expensive magazine I have ever purchased. It was a copy of Fine Woodworking. April 1995 to be exact. A year later, I was ‘off to the races’. I spent a few years making small stuff like jewelry boxes and cabinets, chessboards, tables… After about three years of learning by reading books and doing, I remodeled my kitchen and made my own kitchen cabinets with white oak.
About two years ago, I built an addition to my home because I ran out of space. The new basement is 24’ x 36’ and it’s all wood shop space. For the past year I’ve been gearing up for building guitars, and I’ve got four currently under construction built from scratch. Although I will build lots of other things from wood, I will focus my woodworking on making guitars from this point on.
I still have some organizing to do, and some storage cabinets to build. I also have a 17” Grizzly G0513X2 bandsaw on order and should be delivered May 16th. It’s on back order.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

Here’s the long view
My drafting table and go-bar deck. Yes I still like to draw the old fashion way.
My spruce stash stickered behind my side bender.
My lumber rack.
My tonewood stash. Brazilian rosewood, bubinga, walnut, cherry, maple, cuban and honduran mahogany, cocobolo, and sapele
Gotta have music.
My woodworking bench. 95% of the wood was given to me. The legs were given to me by my friend Tom. The bench itself was once a baker’s table at a local supermarket. It split down the middle and the Dept. of Health made the store replace it. My friend Eric, the manager, asked me if I wanted the wood. It was 1.75” thick quartered maple. Do I want it? I built the storage cabinet underneath about 6 months ago, and I have my handplanes stored in the open area under the front vise.

Vinman,
I thank you for the pictures. For those of us who are shop junkies this is a treat. You have a nice shop space in which to work and I like your set of tools as well. That is a serious lumber stash that you have in there. And I adore your work bench.
Thanks for the post. I would enjoy working in there.

Another roomy shop. For those of us that are shoehorned into a part of the garage, a shop like this is like a ballroom.
