« Part 1: I FINALLY BOUGHT A TABLE SAW! :-D Part 2 of I FINALLY BOUGHT A TABLESAW! :-D series Part 3: Beginning The Negotiations.... »

I just called Jet to get a more definite delivery date so I could shuffle my work week around to take a day off to receive the shipment… I got some sad news. The Deluxe XACTA Saws are back ordered until early to mid June :-( The dust collector is back ordered until mid to late May… Looks like I’m in a long line to get these guys, I even tried to see if upgrading to a 5hp 1phase unit would speed up the process but to no avail. The saw blade and dust collection hose will arrive on Friday… I’m going to have to hide them out of sight to avoid the inevitable depression they will bring when I look at them.

Well, the good news is that it is still available.

True, and I would hope so as it’s one of their newest models…. My guess is like most products they didn’t ramp up production as much as they could have to begin with in the event the product was a flop… Better to apologize to purchasers than explain to the share holders what happened to that multi-million dollar investment…

I can’t say I blame them if the above is true… BUT it does still suck…

They held back because of hte loss of value of the dollar. If it was me, I would cancel and choose something else. Jet is not known for delivering as promised. May be even a longer wait than what they say. Jet is the same company as Powermatic.. see if they have another saw to offer you after you threaten to cancel… who knows, maybe they will upgrade you for free to avoid losing the sale.

That’s a bummer. But Moth is probably right.

I would agree that a lot of industries are erring on the safe side with decreased profits and an unclear forecast of events to come. Large inventories aren’t the best idea for many. I also wonder how much they would do to keep the sale.
