Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome! Everyone is so nice and civil on this blog, that I think I’m going to enjoy learning and sharing here. I am already profiting from the posts of others. There is a lot of woodworking wisdom represented on this site, and that’s great because I need some of it!

Hey Tom, Glad to see another SC Woodworker at LJ’s. I went to High School at Socastee and lived in Surfside for 6 years. My parent’s are still there. They live in Southwood behind Wicked Stick. Dad’s the VP at The Sun News and Mom run’s a practice for Dr. Andy Gresko (cardio). My brother and sister both work for Borroughs and Chapin. I moved to Columbia for school and ended up getting married and stayed over here. I stopped by “WorkShop Tools” last time I was in town and was impressed. They seemed to have a good blend between cheap stuff and higher end products. They have a ShopFox DC I’m going to try and sneak home when we go to visit this Labor Day weekend. Anyways, good to see you on the boards.

Jeff,

Thanks for the warm welcome! Sounds like we might be able to “hook up” when you come to town to visit family. We could have a great time talking “Shop” and going down to “WorkShop Tools” for some great tool shopping.

I am really blessed to live close to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean (.9 mi.) and “WorkShop Tools (2.1 mi.).” I hope to see you here sometime.

I’m going to be doing the holiday shop (santa’s work shop) for a few of the local schools in my area ! I’m looking for ideas for fast , easy projects with little cost to make , so I can donate them for the under privileged childeren to give to their parents for the holidays (x-mas & such) . Childern of all walks of life also find joy in giving to their parents and other family members on the holidays , It gives them a sense of pride, and happyness! The school asks that I make sure that it would be something of a non-religious background to all cultures !If anyone has any plans or ideas please send them to me soon december 17th is my deadline. Thank you everyone that took the time to read this !Happy thanks giving!!!!!

nakamaruchi,

You are in a great place to find help. There are many fine woodworkers here, who are happy to share the knowledge they’ve acquired. I have learned a lot here, and continue to do so. If you have questions, you can “private message” one of us, or post a forum topic, which will launch a discussion on the matter. We’re all here for help and support!
