Hi Todd,
These people are very resourceful and are apparently trolling all over the internet along with the lottery scams as well.
Thanks for the reminder.

Dannyboy received one yesterday and reported it to Martin. Martin left a message that he took care of Kenneth. I think Kenneth found the back door. Its in forum about 18 hours ago.

Its too bad that this keeps going on. There is always someone who will see a chance to have some easy money. As P.T.Barnum once said, theres a sucker born every minute.

Speaking of suckers, a few years back I stumbled across a website that provided resources for people who wanted to scam these scammers. There are apparently a good number of people out there who intentionally lead these people on and get them to do all sorts of crazy stuff, the whole while giving them enough hope that they’re actually going to get some money out of it. Some of the email correspondences were hilarious!
Here's the link. Enjoy!

I must be really lucky. At least one person a day wants to give me a share of their father’s multi-million dollar estate.

The sad thing about these scams is that they must work some of the time or these vermin would not continue to send these unsolicited mailings to the world.
There is a crowd of individuals in the world who live solely off the greed/charity of people. Run as fast as you can away from them.

I’m with dalec, this is sad.
The funny thing is, this proves how uninformed many people still are. I’ve been online since the mid 90s (as most people have) and I think I got my first scam email like this around ‘97. Come to think of it, the guy’s alias was Keneth… I think most of them have been Keneth… Anyway, You would think that a decades worth of tries would alert 99% of the population. But you can never underestimate the extremes of any population. There are always people out there evil enough to take advantage of those who are ignorant enough.

P.S.: I just read through some of that website that Eric recommended. I’m still laughing at this… Too funny.

this is commonly referred to as a “419” scam. generally, they are sent by nigerians and the 419 designation is the cite number in the nigerian criminal code!
make more sawdust….

the latest version has a representative from a government in africa telling you that they discovered your email in an internet fraud investigation. This representative goes on to say that if you send your bank and credit card info to his private g-mail account it will be used to prosecute the criminals.
greed is such a powerful blinder

Hello all Lamberjocks. I am from Afrika, and I would like to be getting to know all you of all better before I mail you my inheritance, by the way is three flies and some dirt. I hope you will betray my trust in you a total stranger, and upon receipt of the dirt and flies you will send me all your american dollars you might have in the bank or buried under your hut. Please email me to upon receiving this correspondence, like your hat size, how many forks you own and all your financial information. Hopefully soon, we will make great times together as friends, and all of your life savings will be in my possession.

What!!!! You mean that Kenneth scammed me and I’m NOT getting his inheritance?????
It is difficult to believe that anyone would fall for this bullstuff, but apparently people get caught up in the hunt for free money. Trust me, if you don’t work and earn it – the only way to get money is to hit the Lottery – and I mean one of the legitimate ones.
