Here are a couple of pictures of the wall cabinets. They are birch, I hung them before staining and finishing so I sould get them out of the shop. I like the color of the wood so much I’m not sure if I will stain them.

Would unfinished wood in a kitchen be hard to maintain? I’m thinking splashes and cooking residues…

Have you lived in the home long? I’m not sure how you hung them but I would just be careful about attaching to your logs with the way they move. They look great, personally I would stain them to give them some contrast against the logs

I’m with you . I think the cabinets look great and have just the right amount of contrast. Of course they have to be finished but not stained. Have you considered water based poly rather than oil based ? the water base does not yellow and preserves the existing color contrast. it will darken very slightly with time (years not weeks) but so will your “logs” so the contrast will remain. If you haven’t used it befor it goes on very thin out of the can but dries very rapidly. 3-4 coats a day with very little effort. I have not used it as a wipe on but certainly will one of these days, again right out of the can, no extra thinner or drier.

Again….......great job on those cabinets. I’ll have to post some of my cabinet jobs I did in log homes in the Appalachian Mountains where I had my cabinet shop. I used a lot of yellow pine for the material there with a natural finish.
