2008 is 15% over and I have zero woodworking project completed. Not That I’m complaining. This woodworker who works out of the corner of the living room has spent the first part of the year, working hard setting up to LIVE THE AMERICAN DREAM and moved to an actual house with a garage. I’m literally moving on up, I mean off the floor of the living room and onto an actual garage with a workbench, and that’s what I’m all excited about in this blog. The previous owner left this behind, I noticed he use it as a miter saw stand when I inspected the house.
I looked at the construction of this “workbench” and realized this is good quality, well built piece of furniture. It’s solid oak, slab construction, with no cracks or splits in the wood. Dove tail drawers and slides. I wiped it down, vacuum it up and dragged it into the living room – where it belongs. It will be restored or re-used or modified one day…after I get my new workshop going. Does any one know anything about this piece?

Wonderful. You have a start on your workshop. Now what is next?

The stlye seems to be of the 1920’s. You see this in many old movies. Have it appraised before you touch the finish.

Looks Like a nice piece of art deco, unless I miss my guess. Nice find.

Looks like 20’s deco to me too, Thuan. Nice piece. Though, despite what the label says, it is not a chair.

BTW. Congratulations on the house. Looking forward, as always, to more posts from you (now with a garage)

Looks solid. I agree with Bulldog, don’t touch the finish until someone looks at it. You run the risk of seriously devaluing it in some cases.
