Website:

I'm a hospital pharmacist with about 20 years of woodworking experience.
Other interests include guitar, cooking, and photography.

Although I have done cabinet work in the past, circumstances (and "shop" space) had limited me primarily to woodturning in recent years. However, a new place in the country and a brand-new shop building have really opened some opportunities. It's time to have some fun!

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

To Carson: <chuckle> No, that’s a different Gravedigger. Somehow I don’t think my SportTrak qualifies as a monster truck (unless you drive a MG, that is!).

Actually, Gravedigger has been my callsign since 1976. It stuck, and I just kept it. Actually,
I’ve been called a lot of things in my time (many not so nice!).

I’ll be starting my blog in the next day or two. I’m in the process of setting up my new shop, and am presently making my European-style workbench using mostly box-store grade lumber.
I’m curious to see how this low-cost variant will work out, and I’ll be adding entries & photos as it progresses. Maybe some of you will have some insights on this.

It comes from an old movie called “Cotton Comes to Harlem.” One of the detectives was called Gravedigger. One of my buddies started calling me that and it stuck. <chuckle> Could be worse—we called him “Weasel”.
