The First pic was my old shop & house. Our cat woke us up & saved our lives! I have been in the new building for about 2 weeks. Hardly a “set up” shop, but its not easy getting it back together after losing everything. I am really hard on tools… & dont always use a certain tool for its intended purpose. So, I tear up a lot of tools…. Thats why I almost exclusively use Craftsman tools….. The warranty! Table saw, routers, drills, sanders, circular saws & Hand tools….. all craftsman. I will buy a 3/8 drill & burn it up 3 times using 24 grit sanding discs before the extended warranty. They cheerfully exchange it for a new one every time. Other than that its the 20” grizzly planer…. which I love. A dust collection system, 36” drum dander & woodmizer L-40 bandmill are next on the wishlist.

Hi Ted,
You have a nice shop in which to work. You have a unique dust collection system as well. :) You do have a nice set of tools to play with though. I would enjoy working in your shop.
Thanks for the post.

To heck with the shop, I’m eyeing up that great stack of wood. Glad nobody was hurt in the old shop but that’s a tough way to get some new space.

Shop fox 2 horse dust collector comming this week from farm table money. Finally! Have yall heard of freecycle.org ??? There is a pod in every area in the US. You can post stuff you want to give away or post for things you want for free. I have been posting my planer shavings, for mulch or bedding & people come get them every week. Now I know the big mills have the collectors dump right into a semi trailer & get 500 to 1000 for a 18 wheeler load. Well… I dont have that much shavings or a semi trailer, so for now, free shavings for all!

I can relate to the loss due to a fire, we went through that about ten years ago, I still go to get something and remember that it was lost in the fire. You can never replace all the fire takes away.
You ended up with a nice building though, I just hope the insurance company was fair with you. Thank God for your cat waking you up.
