I'm a beginning woodworker. I have a lot of remodeling and room addition work under my belt, but now ready to move on to some real woodworking.

I'm in the process of wiring my new Amish-built woodworking shop and look forward to a full summer of projects.

I also have started doing some stained-glass work. And look forward to bringing the two passions together.

Hello Kokomo, Welcome to Lumber Jocks. I grew up at Twelve Mile if you know where it is. North of Logansport. Not much there anymore or in Logansport either. Kokomo got all the factories. You will have fun here.

The back board can be wider and/or taller so it stops on the front frame. If the front is extended at the bottom it can ride in a slot to act as the hinge. With the back board even on the sides, you can cut a notch at the top rear of the side of the bin so you can lift up and pull the bin out.
For real-life service consider that the stuff inside will spoil and get juicy. Use the right wood and finish so this will not ruin the unit.
Good luck.

Teri, Hi again, I noticed you were dealing with a lack of heat in your shop and wanted to share a little tip I found that worked well enough here that no other heat is needed. I installed a small inexpensive cast iron stove (about $168.00) and burned cutoffs for heat as well as branches and other scrap. The box is enclosed and reduces the risk of dust explosion or fire. It is even safer if you spring for the triple walled stove pipe (about $50.00 a 3’ section). It is expensive but worth it for the increased safety and efficiency. I heat a 1234 square foot space with the smallest unit. I hung backer board on the wall (concrete floor) and covered that with brick. A small brick job is easy enough for a novice to complete after a little reading. You can see my heater in my shop pics if you like.
