As we say in Tulsa, “hawe ya’ll duin? ” As a beginner, I have a modest shop. I have some previous DIY experience and have come to really admire the world of creative application that comes with art out of wood. I have done quite a bit of reading which includes most of the books published by Taunton. I’m sure most of you are familiar with ‘TheWoodWhisperer’, and that has served as a huge stepping stone in my ‘overall’ confidence to move into bigger projects. My shop consists of, as David Marks puts it, “the 4 essential wood worker’s tools”. I have a table saw, jointer, planer, and bandsaw. These are the things that get through most of the projects that I do. I also have a custom router table built in to my table saw extension and that serves me quite well. Actually, the router (table mouted) is one of my favorite tools in the shop.
Some of the projects I have done includes a couple of cutting boards and the assembly table base featured on Spagnolo’s site. I am trying to attempt the hand plane featured on the episode shown on Wood Works. I feel that my resources are limited due to the fact that I am teaching myself. I have jumped in with both feet, and I ain’t lookin back.
Don’t chya jus luv it?

It’s got the looks of more than just a modest shop to me.
Looks very nice!

Looks fine! What’s the hook-up or is there any for the trash bag below the table shop?

That’s what I like, a shop in use. I like the saw dust on the floor and everything. I only knew one guy from Tulsa. When I was in the Army and he played Jean Pitneys “Twenty Four Hours from Tulsa” all the time. I got to like the song too.

Well, actually dust collection is something I really need to get in touch with. As you can tell, I have a rigid shop vac and a trash bag underneath my table saw. It’s really sloppy, but I have no choice.

Hi Sung,
You have a nice shop space and a nice looking set of tools to play with. I really like the flooring. Wood is so comfortable to stand on as opposed to concrete.
Thanks for the post.

Nice looking shop Sung. I have to come over to the Woodcraft store in Tulsa. Nice store. We have some friends that leave in Jenks. Welcome!

Your shop is coming along nicely. Your future acquisitions will most likely be project driven, as you have the core machines. Thanks for sharing.

It is great that you had such a nice area to set up your shop. You have enough equipment to have a good start in woodworking. Now that I am retired I am setting up another shop for me. The 200 amp service is in and now I am in the process of wiring the shop. Looking forward to making saw dust one of these days. Thanks for posting pictures of your shop.
God Bless
