Location: West Glacier, Montana
Website: http://www.splinterswoodworks.com/

Splinters Woodworks has evolved from working where ever I could work at;
....a small balcony storage room;
to a friends shop over his garage;
to a small garage;
to a small shop of my own in beautiful Northwest Montana.
There, I can sort of set up my tools and work on projects at the same time. Although that is quickly changing and will need to expand soon. Of course I suppose one never really has enough room do they. Which is why plans are currently being developed for my dream shop, which I hope will be roughed in by Fall 2008.
Currently I am working on creating cribbage boards, cutting boards, custom boxes, pizza peels, footstools, picture frames, and lately carving house/address signs.
I retired from the National Park Service after 30 years of dedicated service and am now working full time in my woodshop creating custom creations for my customers.
Have started doing showings at local farmers markets twice a week and art shows during the summer months. They are a great place to make contacts and hear what the public is looking for or thinking about. Plus it gets me visibility for future projects/clients.
Updating the website is a time consumer in itself, but very worth the effort in the long run, Receiving orders and inquiries from all over the United States.
Seems like I am working harder and longer hours now than when i was working a federal day job, However the happiness and job satisfaction is much more pleasureable.(I even like my boss now...)

Nice projects splinters. Particularly like the outdoor setting. Does your boomerang come back?

Hi Splinters,

I saw that you were asking for more information on a Table I did. I posted some more info and pictures for you (as another project) Carey Dining Table – Prior to finishing on my projects page.

Hi Splinters!
You’ve given me a great idea. I love to play cribbage and I hunt. I never thought of combining the two. What caliber is he using for the pegs?

Another thought … if you use ballistic tipped bullets, the tips are different colors … for different colored pegs :)
