I stumbled onto the craft about 5 years ago when I bought my first home and needed to do some typical DIY type stuff. Like most guys, one tool let to another and then I got digital cable and discovered Woodworks. I was stunned that someone could do something like that with wood and I was hooked.
I was blessed to have inheirited some great tools and that got me started. Lately, I have really been enjoying the variety of podcasts out there and picking up some good ideas. Marc, The Wood Whisperer, directed me here and I am glad to be a part of the community.
Honestly, most of my projects have been gifts to others, and I keep forgetting to take pictures. I am hoping that this site will remind me to capture my work for posterity.
In the last year some of my giftees have come back to me asking for more things and willing to pay for them. To date I have done one craft show and almost sold out so I am starting to embark on this journey of woodworking with the aim of hitting some more craft shows and seeing what I can sell.
I just launched my website and decided to append a blog to it as well to capture some of my thoughts as I work through my projects. I am thinking about hooking up a shop cam as well but still mulling over the technical details of it.

Actually I hate to admit it but I did do it the strip method as well. I thought the samething, if I cut each peice out seperately I won’t be able to glue it fast enough and It will turn out alot harder to make. I do like that ninth peice added to help make a better match. I should give that a try. I found that moveing the peices around a bit also helped with matching the peices so that they wouldn’t have gaps.
