Alright, I’m ready to do some real woodwork now. I finally finished my last two table saw jigs. This time I made a miter sled and a key slot jig (spline jig?). I will make more jigs/sleds as I need them, but I think that the three I’ve made recently should be a good start with my new TS. So, heres a couple of pictures, and as always comments and suggestions are welcome (I came here to learn).

Wahoo! You will make life a lot easier with these jigs.
When you cut the notches for the splines you need to use a blade that has a very flat cut not a high point on the outside edges or you will have a little “V” that you have to sand or file flat. Freud makes a nice box joint set that cuts 1/8” or 1/4” wide and is perfect for this. A combo blade doesn’t make the “V” as bad because it has a flat raker every so many teeth.
You have to make sure that the blade will be able to reach as deep as you need, it looks like you are ok though. Here are a couple shots from my little jig, notice is nothing fancy, it works and keeps my fingers safe.
Design Note: Thin splines are more delicate looking.

Your words carry a great compliment, thanks. Actually we don’t have a Woodcraft anywhere near where I live in Montana, but sharing the knowledge has been one of my long term goals. Lumberjocks has become a great outlet to be able to do that. Sharing has really allowed me to start growing in a great way.
The joy of woodworking is just too good to keep to myself. I have reached the level I am at because of the generosity of others. I am just passing the torch.
