Hello ya'all! I am new to Lumber Jocks, but hae been working wood for about 2 years now. I started woodworking in jr. high and high school. While I was in the Army I made a few projects for the house out of some old pine from a water bed. The kitchen table I built at the Ft. Bragg hobby center as a private in the Army is still in my house some 17 years later. It has been replaced as the kitchen table and is now being used as a work table in my wife's craft room. About two years ago I came back from my last tour of duty overseas in Iraq and wanted to start getting back into woodworking. I built a work bench from 2 X 4 stock and thus the woodworking bug began to nibble at me. A friend of mine gave me a nice craftsman table saw and another friend sold me a craftsman 6" jointer and my colleciton of power tools began. I have 1/2 of a two car garage as my "shop" and with wheels on all of the big stuff I am able to let the honey park her truck in the garage every night (that was the deal with having this hobby).

I am a CPA (as if you cannot tell by the suit!) and my woodworking is limited to weekends and evenings. I have a very supportive wife that would rather spend time with me in her craft room than a hot, sweaty garage. So that means I have to come up with ways to keep our three kids out of her hair while I am working with the wood. My son is easy because he enjoys doing "boy things with dad" my daughters on the other hand wood rather be reading, writing, or painting. Thats not to say the girls do not like the fruits of my labor...they just don't want to help out.

I have built a few projects over the last two years or so. I have almost all of the things I need to keep the shop organized (not that it always stays that way) and I am focusing on building out an up-stairs loft into a nice study. I draw most of my own plans with liberal barrowing form magazines and the internet. I will be posting some of my project pics in the near future.

I joined this community so that I could get more informaiton and insight on how to solve the problems I find myself in on my projects. I also would like to learn how to become more efficent.
