Saturday morning I was lying in bed and on the TV was the lovely Jodi Marks touting the MultiMaster. Now, it’s difficult not to do what Jody says, she being all wonderful and woodworky. And my wife had already decided that we (I) were (was) going to refinish the kitchen table (as opposed to the dining room table). You can see it in the photo. My Jet bandsaw is coming on 4 years old. I know because I bought it at the IWF in 2004.It has the “Carter-style” roller guides.The lower guides adjust on a cam to get close to the blade.There are a number of folks I let use my saw but I will accept responsibility for not loosening the adjusting nut. In any case, the cam broke.First call to Jet got me a very nice, but unknowledgeable young lady who passed me over to a guy in service who said that he would fax me a parts list. (Nowh...

I’m making a Futon Sofa Bed for my grandson. While cutting the parts I was 1” short on the upper and lower rails for the end pieces. The difference was merely the tenons, not the space between the stiles. So I called Gil, my friend with the trusty DowelMax, and we took advantage of an alternate way to fasten the pieces. When The Wood Show was in Atlanta Craft Supplies was teaching folks how to turn pens. I think that is where TimD made his first pen.I had been using CA and BLO as my preferred finishing method for bottle stoppers and pens. But that usually meant sanding to at least 4800 grit, three or four coats of CA and BLO and even then the next day the finish might have dulled down.Thought I’d give Craft Supplies Friction Polish a try.Just sanded to 2400 with mm then friction polish with a paper tow...
