This looks like a great place to spend some time. I’m glad to have found it. I do my work on a 54 year old Shopsmith. I learned my basic woodworking skills as a kid from my dad who bought it new in 1952. I had more separate power tools, but sold or gave them away so I could “get back to my roots”, so to speak. I guess a lot of purists would fault me for this, but sometimes when I’m working with this machine, I can almost see my dad there watching over me…telling me to be careful. There’s really a lot more to the story than that, but why start out here by boring everyone to tears this early in my tenure -SST
