How long did you let it steam?

I find that if you use a 1/8 piece of flat aluminum on the outer curves it helps to prevent breaking like that.
Kind of like a bending strap. Then I would do the tighest bend first while the wood was most pliable.

The project is looking great so far!

It was in the steamer for a couple hours but only warm to the touch. Shouldn’t it be hot? As you can tell, I’ve never used a steamer before.

I like the aluminum idea. I have some here so I’ll have to try it.

There’s an old trick, (but don’t know if it will work in this case). Cut short small kerfs through out the width of the board were the curve gets tight. But, you would have to hide the cuts.
