Observations #7: I Need More Time
Douglas Bordner posted his first marquetry project and it was not only impressive, but motivational. The second pen-turners swap is under way and I am enjoying watching it as much as the first one. Intarsia, veneering, bending, carving, bowl...

Okay, I am overwhelmed by the rapidity of recognition. I wasn’t even done entering my profile before I received welcome messages. Truth be told, I’m here cause I really like the pictures and I’m looking to learn from folks whose skills and knowledge are obviously superior to mine. It would be great to contribute and I’m hoping that I’ll have something to say in the not too distant future.
In the meantime, there’s a fair amount of stuff to look through . . .

Just checked out all your projects so far and you have some real nice work. My favorite’s are the storage bench and the grandfather clocks. Well done. You also have a great website.

Thanks for the welcome Russel and comments on my Charlie Brown blog article. Brought tears to my eyes as I was writing it. But I do think it’s one of the greatest gifts a parent can give their kids, the ability to make something with their own hands. And that is the most precious time when you have that kind of one-on-one time with either your parent or your kids.
