My full-time day job keeps me from doing much (any?) woodworking. But I find that this is no excuse to no expand my skill set. So i try and fill up my 40 minute train ride into and out of NYC every day and night with reading books and magazines about woodworking.
When I have downtime I read up on numerous sites about working wood. It's therapy. I also like to write, having written for a tool blog that will remain nameless for the moment. But I've not had the time to write for them in several months. Working 60-70 hour work weeks will do that to you. I still hope to go back to it. But for the moment I can't call myself a writer.
Beyond that my other hobby is cars - I drive a classic 1990 BMW 535i, 5-speed that is largely original with a few aftermarket upgrades. By "drive" I mean that it sits in the garage for weeks on end since I don't use it to go to work and I don't usually have much time for going out on my own for spirited drives on the weekends. I live with my wife and my nearly 2 year old daughter - so they take up much (Wife's Note: All) of my free time.
I do have some smallish projects that I hope to complete in the next few months. I don't have much in the way of tools. Basically, I've got a circ saw, cordless drill, Kreg pocket screw jig, some of my dad's old planes and chisels, and that's about it. All of my other tools are of the home improvement or automotive variety.
