Went in to the sawmill today . First day for quite sometime too many other things to do. Sawed a few long logs 17’ to finish my rafters for the workshop. . These are 3×6x17’ . These logs are too long to go in through the log door so we pull them in through on end of the shed saw them and then pull them out through the other end.
We then filled the summer sleigh with slabs for fire wood and i will tow them out tomorrow .
good day

Looks like some awesome shores for swimming and getting a suntan. So how peaceful is it out there? A whole different variety of lumber from S Texas.

thanks for the photos. A great view. How do you pull the summer sleigh?

Thanks for the photos. It’s great fun to watch. That’s a good log arch you have for your 4-wheeler.

Most of the wood I saw is spruce and fir. I will pull the summer sleigh with my boat. I have a rope running of to the boat so when I am ready its full speed ahead the load of slabs then slips down over the rocks into the water and I then tow it out around the island and my friend pulls it up on the wharf with his fork lift. He lifts it of the sleigh and then its over on my property where I saw them up and store them inside for the coming winter.

I also have a shed next to my mill that I fill with slabs before the snow comes. As soon as the snow comes and the ice freezes I then haul as needed with my snowmobile.
I am leaving to go back in to the mill this morning in my boat to tow out the sleigh , will try to get some more pics.
Some more pics from yesterday

the process seems to have a flow to it that has been fine-tuned over the past few generations.
Beautiful land.

I just checked mapquest for your location, no suntanning there but you are very lucky to live there, its stunning! The water, crystal clear blue, I bet fishing is great. What kind of band-blades do you use Quebecnewf?

I buy my blades at Max scie mum in Montreal. They are sold in the US under the Timberwolf. Made by Suffolk in Sweden I think
