So I went to an Estate Sale, and found this Starrett 12” combination square still in the original packaging with the nylon wrap, and for $20… obviously I snagged it before anyone else had the chance to even think about looking at it… I recently commented on teenagerwoodworker review of his Empire combination square. I definitely give this one 5 stars, but this is specific of the application – it being portable. If I was comparing it with other Hybrid saws, than this one doesn’t really compare when it comes to power. That being said. I was shopping for a table saw, after many years of working with a circular saw, and a straight edge – for me – it was time to get a setup for repetitive cuts that would be easier, and less time consuming (not to mention more precise, as the machine...

I got the MHG 6 Bench Chisels set. For the market price of $110 I expected these to be of somewhat higher quality than the “big store” economy sets. The FeelThey actually feel lighter then the (english) rubber handle Marples I have, and the blade seems slightly thinner. other then that, they do feel very comfortable to hold, and work with. the handle is round, but flattened out on both sides, which keeps it from rolling around the workbench, and falling off the floor… ...

Be careful when using this product because it’ll help you get your blades so sharp you could cut yourself by holding them by the handle… This tool is remarkably simple to use and accurate. I especially like the quick micro-bevel setup.
