What a fantastic idea and first class all the way!

It’s so amazing to me what technology and the internet has enabled us to do.
I’ve always enjoyed reading magazine articles about other craftsman and seeing the different things they created. (This is so much better)
It blows my mind that Tony over there in Finland is checking out our bar or if I ever felt the urge too make a guitar or something I have no clue about, I know where to go! (what a trip!)
Looking forward to having some fun!

P.S. Thanks for all the nice comments on our bar, they’re appreciated.

Bryan (Popintraining)

I agree Bryan. I came in toward the early part of this site when about 30 people were signed up. We had a lot of fun with each other giving one another praise and also a hard time. In some cases I miss the old days. You could look at each and every blog and project. and comment many times on each.

Now they float off to two and three pages away in a few hours.

But the amount of quality work has increased. Not that is was not quality before it was just that we didn’t have a lot of new postings before.

This is the best woodworking site that has been around. Others have allowed you to post questions. The ability to post picture and the work flow as we make items it just great. Almost as great as being present with someone as they are doing it.

We miss the coffee and bagel but we get the chit-chat.

Bryan, in my short time here I have learned more and seen more than I could ever imagine. The folks here love wood and what people do with it. There are experts and novices and everything in between. Thems that can, teach and the rest of us learn. You won’t find friendlier people anywhere. The only downside, like Karson said, is you have to bring your own coffee and bagel. You’re gonna love this place.

That is a beautiful looking fireplace Bryan
I have also been here since the near begginning and it has really grown in a short time.
It is by far the best woodworking forum on the net. Martin has done a superb job taking care of us. He is always adding something new for us.
I have met a lot of great people here and there is a huge amount of talent shown here.

It’s amazing, What, I just happened to stumble into, When I tripped into LumberJocks. I check this site numerous times daily and always, always find what I consider new friends, interesting people, interesting projects and new ways of doing things. Being able to share once in a while, gives me a lot of joy also. I see some amazing talents presented here and look forward to many years of enjoyment with the fellowship that is LumberJocks.
God bless

In some ways, like Karson and many of us from the ‘good old days’, I miss the times when we didn’t miss a picture or a word… and most Saturdays would pass with no activity (online) whatsoever. But I still wouldn’t trade the new energy and involvement. I’m at the point now where I can let some of the magazine subscriptions slide, (and prolong the risk of getting buried under an avalanche!) and not feel like I’m missing out on the best of what the world of woodworking has to offer.

Welcome to Lumberjocks!

WELCOME TO LUMBERJOCKS!!!!!!!!!

You will find truely dedicated, caring, compassionate, funny, smart, and HELPFUL crafts men and women, who want nothing more than to share the love of making saw dust, be it from expensive professional powertools, cheap second hand tools (like mine), hand tools, or even the whittler.

You will have some of the best experiences here. You will have the opportunities to make comments, suggestions, and even bust some chops.

We are a family, we laugh (sometimes at each other), we learn from each other, we cry together (over messed up project) and most of all we accept each other.

Have Fun
Adrian

Welcome Bryan!
What beautiful work of art on that fireplace. I’ll be looking forward to the final results.

Lumberjocks had about 120 members when I joined, & Boy has it been seeing some explosive growth.

I was kind of laid back, & kind of shy about showing my projects at first, because about the only people who have ever seen my stuff is family, & friends. Now I have friends from all over the world looking at my stuff.

I also spend an awful lot of time on this site, looking at all of this fantastic craftsmanship.

It has interfered with my woodworking though, because I turn it on, & before you know it, a whole day has disappeared. Being retired, I guess a person can do whatever turns his crank. LOL
