Computer Issue

Blog entry by Tony Z posted 106 days ago 98 reads 0 times favorited 4 comments Add to Favorites

Certain aspects of the site work or don’t work, depending on if I’m at my home computer or work computer. I’m looking for a remedy. Everything seems to work fine on my work computer but if I click on a photo of a project at home, nothing happens. If I want to see a full size image of a project I have to right-click and “open image in new window”. So none of the slide-show type features of the site work at my home computer. Also, the drop-down on the “My Lumberjocks” tab does not drop down. Any help would be appreciated. I’m guessing its just a setting or an update. Thanks.

Try using a different browser. I use Firefox (on a Linux-based operating system, no less) and have never had any problems. If you’re using Firefox, try Opera or Internet Explorer.

Just taking a stab at it – don’t really know myself!

What Operating system are you using? I have the same problem with the “My Lumberjocks” tab on my home PC which I run “Vista”. But not on my work PC which runs “XP”. Also make sure you allow popups for this site.

Hi Tony,

My first guess would be that you have restricted the use of javascript on your home computer. This site uses a program called lightbox to display the images which relies heavily on the fact that you have javascript enabled. (the more techie people may correct me on this one).

I would start by going to tools>internet options>security tab select the icon entitled trusted sites. add lumberjocks.com. If this does not work I would see below.

Assuming you are using IE6 I found the directions at the website below to enable or disable javascript.

Hope this helps,

Derek
