I used red oak with walnut pegs. Chose and applied the stain last night.
I’ve been “playing” with design on this project. Kind of creating as I go. (I know. I know. I need to buy a sketch pad.) So, as you can imagine, this has been one of those projects where I say to myself, “Well, I won’t do that again.” (multiple times) But it’s been fun!
It’s turning out “okay” but Wow!, I’m enjoying the other entries!
I’m still trying to figure out how to attach the top to get the effect I want.
Hmmmmm.

I don’t know whether I want to embarrass myself but I’ll point out a few things when I post my final pictures.
Some are design issues that didn’t work (in my opinion) and some are technical issues I should have avoided if I had thought through the design a little better.

as a beginner, it would be helpful for me (although I’m sure that I’ll probably re-learn through personal experience anyway… but at least I’ll be able to say, “Oh yah.. so THAT”S what Paul was talking about!!”)
