« Part 4: "...doing all that planing." Part 5 of Another New Fangled Workbench series Part 6: The workbench grows legs. »

My son Forest Fox born May 19th 1:30 PM on my father’s 75th birthday. Love him to pieces. Thus the intermittent postings on the project.

Following the trail blazed by others on this site, I offer my theme and variation on the design. I have several other project ideas in the hopper, but also a first child on the way in a month plus, so this may be an erratic posting.

I like the finish, it looks like Cherry or Red Oak. What ever it is you and your wife made it perfert. I bet it took a lot of planing. And I think it will be around for 100 years. Congratulations, to you and your Wife.

Congratulations on this project. He looks like he is “well designed” and the “finish” seems like a long time in the future but it will be here before you know it. :)

Wonderful post. I trust that mother is doing well also. I can tell that dad is.

Thanks for the post.

Congratulations Michael, there are many years of joy you have ahead, and they are priceless.
Our son is now 14 going 20, there are days I do miss the littler version, all in all we are very proud of him.

Thanks for all the congrats, really hard to find words to describe being a new Dad. I am getting used to that word though and it feels great.

CONGRAT’s. If you think that “dad” feels great now wait until he starts saying “daddy”.
